The exterior and interior of the car should be as clean as possible prior to shipping and our staff will provide you with a detailed condition report for the vehicle when it is received into our warehouse. Vehicles bound for New Zealand will need to be especially clean and they are subject to a quarantine inspection once the container arrives into New Zealand. The cost of which is payable in New Zealand via our nominated destination agent.
Our quotation excludes storage at origin or destination, demurrage or quay rent at the destination port if arising from import duties, taxes or any other sums due to government departments. There are quarantine inspection fees payable in New Zealand and charges for local registration and compliance.
Most car insurance policies do not cover the transportation of your vehicle by sea. For this reason King & Wilson recommends you take out a transit insurance policy for the period your vehicle is being transported or stored.
The vehicle needs to be substantively empty, apart from the spare wheel and jack. All other items including child restraint seats must be removed and form part of a separate personal effects shipment due to customs regulations.
Our standard quotation provides for you to deliver the vehicle to either our Canbera (Hume), Sydney (Wetherill Park) or Melbourne (Mt Waverley) warehouse. We can however arrange for a car transporter to collect your vehicle from your metropolitan or regional residence at an additional cost.
Our standard quotation provides for you to arrange to collect the vehicle from our agents’ warehouse at either Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington or London. This can only occur after the vehicle has cleared customs and any RTA related examinations have been undertaken.
